Key West's Climatic Weather Patterns

Long a haven for creative spirits, Key West is famous for its sensational sunsets, boisterous street festivals, divine cuisine, over-the-top tropical drinks, world-class diving and snorkeling, enchanting gingerbread houses, it's laid-back, anything-goes atmosphere, and of course, it's tropical climate.

Jimmy Buffet called Key West "Paradise," and it is blessed with the most moderate temperatures in the country. The average daily temperatures are 81.9 degrees high and 73.4 degrees low. Easily accessible, America's only caribbean island also has the distinction of being the only caribbean island connected to the mainland by a network of roadways and a few extraordinarily long bridges.

Due to its year-round warmth -- and the "anything goes" attitude that pervades the island -- residents, who represent a great variety of ethnic backgrounds -- have been known to wear just about anything that suits their taste, no matter what their destination. Even the most upscale restaurants shun strict dress codes. Differences are embraced rather than discouraged on Key West.
